Please join us on Tuesday evening, September 9, at 7 p.m., for an Author Talk with former long-time Wilton resident Peter Friedman for a fascinating look inside the world of television commercial magic as recounted in his memoir I'll Get the Tip: Moments Between the World's Biggest Stars and an Unknown Ad Guy. Peter will be in conversation with Grant Copeland, who helped him write this book.

You've probably never heard of Peter Friedman, but he's been around some of the biggest celebrities, best companies, and boldest television campaigns of the last half century. Now, Peter recounts some of those moments when the most popular people on the planet interacted with an unknown ad guy.

A heartwarming collection of stories filled with anecdotes and life lessons, I'll Get the Tip brings you both center stage and behind the scenes with icons of sport, music, politics, and entertainment. Through Peter's good-natured storytelling, you will experience a fun and fascinating trip into a world that few get to see - alongside one of the largely invisible but extremely valuable professionals who help make television commercial magic.

Peter Friedman has spent his entire professional life as a television commercial and video producer. His five-decade career includes heading the Lucasfilms commercial production company, serving as the first Global Head of Television Production for Nike, running the worldwide broadcast production team for McCann Erickson, and acting as the production head for PGA TOUR Entertainment. Having filmed around the world while largely based in New York and Los Angeles, Peter now lives more quietly in Newtown, Connecticut. But don’t call him retired; he’s still producing commercials and a variety of video content as a consultant for several top brands.

Grant Copeland is the President and Chief Creative Officer of WORX – a Connecticut-based marketing agency. Grant is regarded as one of the country's top branding and creative strategists – having won dozens of awards in branding, identity, print, advertising, web, television, radio, video, packaging, and environmental design. He is also an active community leader, serving on the boards of the Mattatuck Museum and United Way of Greater Waterbury. For the latter, Grant founded the UPSTARTERS® youth leadership program which now has over 2,600 participants.

Peter Friedman will sell and sign copies of his book after the program.
