Book lovers ages 5 to adult are invited to kick off Summer Reading Club with award-winning author Veera Hiranandani, a graduate of Wilton High School. Veera will discuss her journey to becoming a published author, the inspiration for her books, from picture books to historical novels, and her writing process. A book signing will follow the program.
Veera Hiranandani is the award-winning author of many books for young readers including the Newbery Honor–winning The Night Diary, the companion novel Amil and The After, as well as How to Find What You're Not Looking For, winner of the Sydney Taylor Book Award and the New York Historical Society Children's History Book Prize, and The Whole Story of Half a Girl, a Sydney Taylor Notable Book and a South Asia Book Award finalist. A former editor at Simon & Schuster, she now teaches in the Writing for Children and Young Adults MFA Program at The Vermont College of Fine Arts.
