Please join us for this virtual Author Talk with former Foreign Service officer Otho Eskin, about his latest thriller Black Sun Rising, featuring Washington, D.C. homicide detective Marko Zorn. When Zorn’s partner is murdered, his search for justice leads him deep into Black Sun, a violent neo-Nazi movement built from the ruins of World War II’s most sinister forces. Their goal: unleash a catastrophic attack that will plunge the nation into chaos.

A pulse-pounding thriller in the tradition of Baldacci, Clancy, and Patterson, Black Sun Rising delivers relentless suspense, razor-sharp political intrigue, and a chillingly timely story of unchecked hatred—and the one man willing to risk everything to stop it. There will be time for Q & A after Otho Eskin's presentation.

Otho Eskin

OTHO ESKIN is a graduate of Bowdoin College and The George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC. After serving in the Army, he joined the United States Foreign Service. During a career of more than 20 years, he was stationed in Washington, DC; Damascus, Syria; Belgrade (the capital of former Yugoslavia); Reykjavik, Iceland; and Berlin (at the time  East Germany); in addition to special assignments to New York, Geneva, Switzerland and Caracas, Venezuela. He was vice chairman of the United States delegation to the United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea. He participated in the negotiations on the International Space Station and was the principal U.S. negotiator of several international agreements on seabed mining and the U.S. representative to the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space and has testified before the U.S. Congress.

On retirement from the Foreign Service, Eskin became an internationally produced playwright and thriller novelist. His first thriller, The Reflecting Pool, introduced Marko Zorn, a maverick homicide detective who hates guns and prefers to use his wits to get out of trouble. Each Marko Zorn book can be read as a stand-alone novel or as part of the series which also includes Head Shot, Firetrap and his current thriller Black Sun Rising.
