Event Details

Please join us for another delightful Sunday afternoon of music in our Connecticut's Own series, for a  performance by vocalist Melissa Newman and her trio.

In addition to being a vocalist, the multitalented Melissa is also a teacher, writer and artist who works primarily in porcelain and stoneware. She has shown her work in galleries around the Northeast. After enjoying a lucrative jingle career, she continues to perform with her trio. Melissa spent almost 20 years volunteering and working with the inspiring women at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, teaching art and singing there and in other communities.

Melissa recently coedited and designed a coffee table book about her parents, Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman, Head Over Heels, a Love Affair in Words and Pictures (Little Brown), which we were very pleased to have Melissa speak about here at Wilton Library last December.

Accompanying Melissa in her performance will be musicians Tony Lombardozzi on guitar, Jeff Fuller on bass, and Bobby Leonard on drums.

No charge. Registration is requested. Pre-registrants should arrive no later than 3:50 p.m. to be guaranteed seating; waitlisted and walk-ins will be admitted after 3:50, if space is available.
