Please join us for an active, fun and informative class on Women's Self-Defense. This class includes an introduction by one of Wilton's female detectives, Lt. Anna Tornello, followed by instruction on self-defense techniques from SDSS Martial Arts Wilton instructors. You will be learning basic everyday self-defense techniques emphasizing awareness, thought and execution, and is suitable for those with no experience. All movements can be modified for anyone to participate.
SDSS Martial Arts Wilton focuses on everyday self-defense, using an ancient and proven method. SDSS has been in service of the community of Fairfield County for over 30 years with instructors who are full-time career martial artists and have graduated from our "SDSS Professional Martial Arts Academy" for certification to teach all ages.
Lt. Anna Tornello has been with the Wilton Police since 2010 and is currently a Detective Lieutenant, the first female lieutenant in the history of the department. Lt. Tornello is part of the regional Emergency Response Team as a negotiator and is one of only a few drug recognition experts in Connecticut. She is also one of five members of the department’s new peer support team trained in supporting officers in Wilton (and elsewhere) who may have professional or personal difficulties. She speaks three languages and is an accomplished opera singer.
