Program Description

Event Details

Please join us for a holiday jazz concert featuring the Eric Mintel Quartet.  With Eric on piano, Nelson Hill on sax, Jack Hegyi on bass, and Dave Mohn on drums, the Quartet will perform its well-known Charlie Brown holiday jazz show in which “Take Five,” “Three to Get Ready,” and “Blue Rondo” magically appear alongside wonderful arrangements of holiday classics and original holiday songs.

Dave Brubeck once said: “As long as the music attracts dedicated young musicians like Eric Mintel, jazz will continue to thrive and progress as a voice of freedom!”

Suitable for all ages. Registration recommended. Please register online or call 203-762-6334. For more information, contact asato@wiltonlibrary.org.

Eric Mintel has played the piano all his life. Career highlights include two performances by invitation at the White House, several concerts at The Kennedy Center, and as a special guest at the United Nations. He was a featured guest on Marian McPartland’s award-winning Piano Jazz program on NPR and his music is regularly played on Sirius/XM radio.

Nelson Hill played lead alto sax with Maynard Ferguson’s band. Jack Hegyi’s career included a 30-year run in the Atlantic City music scene where he played alongside the likes of Steve Lawrence, Eydie Gourmet and Don Rickles among many luminaries of the entertainment world. Dave Mohn’s career includes drumming with the popular Johnny’s Dance Band, Johnny Defrancesco and the Sesame Street Players.
