Program Description

Event Details

Biking in all forms gives us the freedom of movement, gets us outdoors, and is a great way for us to interact with our friends and our community. Of course, being safe on the road is key to that freedom, especially when it comes to e-bike safety.

Please join us for a conversation aimed at adults and parents with a panel of experts who will share the latest information and how to keep kids safer on the road. This endeavor requires a multi-pronged approach and will specifically discuss visibility, indication of movement, bike choices, new Connecticut e-bike legislation, and why this is all so important.

Panelists include:

  • Melanie Pearl, PhD
  • Kathryn Haavik, CEO of Ride On LLC
  • Paul Ashworth, Bicycle & Pedestrian Coordinator, Connecticut Department of Transportation
  • Officer Christopher Ventura, Wilton Police Department
  • Emergency Department Physician from Stamford Health

The panel will be moderated by Trinity Haswell, LCSW, Youth Services Coordinator, Town of Wilton. This program is presented in collaboration by Wilton Library, Wilton Police Department, Wilton Social Services and Wilton Youth Council.

Registration suggested.
