Please join ONS on Zoom to talk about how to prevent running injuries.  Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out, chronic or acute injuries can impede your performance. ONS sports medicine surgeon Megan Gleason, MD, and foot & ankle surgeon Jordan Pasternack, MD, will discuss common running injuries and advanced treatment options available to help minimize your risk of injury so you can achieve your running goals.

Dr. Gleason is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. Her practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of activity and sports-related injuries in the knee, shoulder and elbow. Dr. Gleason performs a range of shoulder replacement procedures, including total shoulder replacement, reverse shoulder replacement, and partial shoulder replacement. Dr. Gleason graduated from Dartmouth College with a bachelor’s degree in biophysical chemistry. She received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Gleason completed her orthopaedic surgery residency followed by additional fellowship training in sports medicine at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Gleason has covered several area sports teams, including Southern Connecticut State University, Albertus Magnus College Men’s Ice Hockey, and many local high schools. Dr. Gleason is a member of American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society. She is also a Castle Connolly Top Doctor.

Dr. Pasternack is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon who specializes in all aspects of non-surgical and surgical care of foot and ankle injuries and conditions. He treats all conditions of the foot and ankle including but not limited to ankle and foot arthritis, Achilles ruptures, tendonitis, fractures, bunions, hammertoe, ankle sprains, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, flatfoot, Morton’s Neuroma, and other foot or toe deformities. Dr. Pasternack believes in treating the whole patient and not just the specific ailment from which they are suffering.  Non-surgical options include injections, medications, and physical therapy. In cases where surgical intervention is needed, Dr. Pasternack is experienced in a variety of procedures such as ankle replacements, Achilles tendon repairs, bunion surgeries, foot and ankle reconstructions, fusions, and fracture fixation. Dr. Pasternack earned his Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude from The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ. He then obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. Dr. Pasternack completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, followed by a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the esteemed MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
