Please join us as Caroline Mandler leads a discussion of Jonathan Haidt's The Anxious Generation. For years, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt has been offering insightful, data-based analysis over a range of our most intense social issues including political/religious polarization and cancel culture on college campuses. In his new book, The Anxious Generation, he focuses his lens on the rise of mental health problems amongst especially teens resulting from their increasingly screen-based lifestyles. Adolescents’ mental health began plunging in the early 2010s. Apple’s iPhone was released in 2007 with the iPad in 2010. Coincidence? The Wall Street Journal said: “Words that chill the parental heart… thanks to Mr. Haidt, we can glimpse the true horror of what happened not only in the U.S. but also elsewhere in the English-speaking world… lucid, memorable… galvanizing.”

This group meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month from September through May, excluding December. Call the Senior Center for details and to register at 203-834-6240. Comstock Community Center, 180 School Road, Wilton.
