Join us for a dynamic, interactive panel discussion exploring how Palliative and Hospice Care can enrich and elevate the quality of life for anyone facing serious illness.

Panelists will include:

Robin Bennett Kanarek is a registered nurse and palliative care advocate and author of her first book, Living Well with a Serious Illness: A Guide to Palliative Care for Mind, Body, and Spirit (Johns Hopkins University Press). She is the president of the Kanarek Family Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) founded in 2006 in Greenwich. 

Laura Taets is a licensed clinical social worker with board certification in Palliative and Hospice care. Laura is currently in full time private practice as a therapist specializing in illness, care giving, grief and loss; and as a palliative specialist supporting individuals and families with issues such as advance care planning and health care decision making. Laura's prior experience includes Hospice Director at Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Fairfield County/Waveny LifeCare Network, inpatient and outpatient palliative team member at Stamford Hospital, co-developer of palliative program at Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital, and oncology and hospice social work.

Mary Morrissey-Ross, PhD, RN, CHPN, has been working as a nurse for 45 years, 12 of which have been in hospice and palliative care. She is currently the Director and Supervisor of the Waveny VNH Hospice team which serves lower Fairfield County.

Dr. Steph Paulmeno, a Registered Nurse (RN) for 57 years, is also a Masters-prepared Gerontologist and licensed nursing home administrator. She is Nationally Board Certified in Case Management, Public Health, and Dementia Care.

Michael LaMagna, LNHA, MPA, J.D., is an attorney and client advocate who concentrates in the areas of Advanced Asset Protection Planning, Trusts and Estates, Elder Law, Probate and Estate Litigation, Guardianships, Health Care Regulatory Matters, and Special Needs Law. He is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut, Federal District Court and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Dr. Linda Mitchell, MD is a geriatric medicine specialist in Greenwich, CT and has over 9 years of experience in the medical field. She graduated from International Medical and Technological University School of Medicine (Vignan) in 2014. She is affiliated with medical facilities Yale New Haven Hospital and Montefiore Medical Center.
