Please join us to learn about the Wide World of Beer.  There are over sixty styles of beers brewed in the world, more than 5,000 breweries and more than 15,000 brands of beer among all the styles brewed. In the United States it's no longer just the expensive imported beers that serious beer lovers seek out. There has been a renaissance in the brewing and consumption of beer over the past 35 years. As is the case with wines, coffees, teas, breads and many other foods, Americans are seeking out and trying new and interesting beverages.  Gregg Glaser will speak about the history of beer and the many styles available.

Gregg Glaser is Publisher/Editor of Modern Distillery Age, a weekly trade magazine covering the spirits business. Previously, he was Editor in Chief of Yankee Brew News, a bimonthly consumer newspaper covering craft beer in the Northeast; a columnist for Modern Brewery Age, a trade magazine for the beer business established in 1934; and News Editor for All About Beer Magazine, a consumer magazine. He’s written for many other consumer and trade publications in the U.S. and Europe.  Gregg conducts monthly tasting panels for Modern Distillery Age, and since 1996, he’s been the producer of the Great International Beer, Cider, Mead & Sake Competition, the largest such professional competition on the East Coast.
