Professional book discussion leader Susan Boyar discusses The Known World, by Edward P. Jones on Zoom this month. Jones tells the story of Henry Townsend, a black farmer and former slave who falls under the tutelage of William Robbins, the most powerful man in Manchester County, Virginia. In a daring and ambitious novel, Jones has woven a footnote of history into an epic that takes an unflinching look at slavery in all of its moral complexities.
Wilton Library Readers meets the second Wednesday of each month through June. Feel free to munch your lunch while we discuss the book. For a listing of meetings and titles, visit our Wilton Library Readers page. Registration is required for this event to receive the Zoom link.
